Savanna's are most commonly located in what is called the transitional zone of a grassland and forest or desert. The transitional zone is where one biome changes into another. A majority of savanna's are located close to the equator meaning that they are located in warm places. They cover about half of Africa, large areas of South America, India, and Australia. The most known savanna's are the African Savanna and the Australian savanna. The soil is here usually porous and allows water to drain quickly.
